Excerpt from The Little Prince

Here is a little excerpt from the book, since many people have not heard of it before ;)
So Sweet, it could be a vow.

Antoine de Saint-Exupery, from The Little Prince

“Go and look again at the roses. You will understand now that yours is unique in all the world.”
The little prince went away, to look again at the roses.
“You are not at all like my rose,” he said. “As yet you are nothing. No one has tamed you, and you have tamed no one. You are like my fox when I first knew him. He was only a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But I have made him my friend, and now he is unique in all the world.”
And the roses were very much embarrassed.
“You are beautiful, but you are empty,” he went on. “One could not die for you. To be sure, an ordinary passerby would think that my rose looked just like you – the rose that belongs to me. But in herself alone she is more important than all the hundreds of you other roses: because it is she that I have watered; because it is she that I have put under the glass globe; because it is she that I have sheltered behind the screen; because it is for her that I have killed the caterpillars (except the two or three that we saved to become butterflies); because it is she that I have listened to, when she grumbled, or boasted, or even sometimes when she said nothing. Because she is my rose.”
And he went back to meet the fox.
“It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important,” said the fox.
“It is the time I have wasted for my rose – ” said the little prince, so that he would be sure to remember.
“Men have forgotten this truth,” said the fox. “But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. You are responsible for your rose...”
“I am responsible for my rose,” the little prince repeated, so that he would be sure to remember.

90 Days (actually 89!) haha!

Just went to "norcal" for a wedding this past weekend and spent some good quality time with friends!
Phew! It was time to take a break and rest for a little bit, but it is so hard to get back into the working schedule..Ahh!

Still a lot to do, but I have realized that it is really important to take time out to really think about what is important and prioritize!

Still can't believe I'm getting married! I'm going to be making my decisions with another person! Wow! At this point, many things are up in the air! I guess this makes things exciting?

Well... we took engagement photos and that was an interesting and fun experience! I couldn't stop laughing, so I'm hoping that all my photos don't look the same..haha!
Anyways, here's a sneak peak from Lovely Leaf! Thanks Alice and Serena and Wilmarose!

100 Days!

Today marks 100 days until THE Big Day!!
Eeek!

I am going to try to keep an update on things here every 10 days... Let's see how it goes! haha!

These days, I am pretty busy making things for RUCHE!
Here is a little peek at the craziness!
These little fingers of mine are going through a battle!
It has been fun working with friends and creating these pretty little things!

In terms of wedding plans, next thing up is.... The Engagement Session!
Anabel, one of my bridesmaids and blogger for 3 Letter Words, and I went shopping yesterday for some outfits. The girl has some great style and I think I feel more confident about wearing these pieces... I am hoping it will come out well..hah hahh..

Even though I grew up with a photographer dad, I am SO not the model-type! I would rather be the one to pose other people or help them with their makeup and hair. I am getting kind of nervous already thinking about being in front of a camera.
Well... Daniel and I are in the hands of some talented people, so I think it should be great!
Shout-outs to Lovely Leaf Studios, Studio205 films and Lovely Jubilee!
Thanks everyone!

So next Tuesday we will be shooting in Downtown Santa Ana.- Historic and Artistic. Bricks and Foliage.
Me and Daniel's first date was at Original Mike's. Yes...it is pretty random..and I'm not sure if we both knew it was a date...puahaha!

and if you remember my photo shoot from the Winter time, we will also be shooting here:

Easiest DIY Flower Garland!

I want to share with you a super simple DIY Flower Garland that I just put together to add some decor to my office. You can hang this pretty garland anywhere that need some cuteness or for your wedding with some twinkle lights (my favorite!)

1.) So basically, it is just two ready-made present bows stuck together. If the tape that comes with is already sticky enough, you can just peel off the stickers and stick them together with the ribbon in between.
If you need extra reinforcements, use double-stick tape or a stapler.

2.) I like to cut the ribbon after I finish putting all the bows together and I have it extra long at the ends to be able to tie it to places.

3.) Ta-Da! Pretty Garland made in like 10 minutes!
You can do this with any kind/color of present bow, but I found mine at Border's Book Stores. They were actually on clearance at one of the closing locations.

A Petit Plume Proposal

Sunday, April 17th, 2011

a busy day of church, appointments and meetings for both of us..

TANGENT: last night, Daniel was over at my house and he helped me clean my room. I found this coral nail polish I had been looking for and immediately put it on! Daniel was like…what are you doing? You need to clean your room! Turns out that my nails totally matched this skirt I got a while back and was waiting for the right weather to wear it and it all just happened to match my ring!! haha!

We were both pretty tired after the busyness of our days, so we ended up knocking out! (I guess this was to avoid talking to me?…)

He has told me earlier this week that Jim and Annie were in town and wanted to get dinner with us tonight at Downtown Disney at The Jazz Kitchen…, so to make it “more fun and romantic”, he said, “let’s take the train!” We have taken the train in the past and it was quite fun, so I agreed…

Daniel looked pretty normal… usually I can figure him out really well…

I had a few suspicions and did think, “is he going to propose to me?, but I really believed we would get dinner at Downtown Disney and I had no clue on how he was going to do this because I am quite hard to surprise…

So we went on the train and it was actually quite crowded…he was searching for the right spot to sit without many people… I was like…just sit wherever! but we found a spot with one other person inside…

right when we sat down, he said, “we don’t have a lot of time.. and we are not going to Downtown Disney” (i was confused)

Then he look at me in the eyes and held my hands and said things like he loved me and wanted to be with me, but I interrupted him and was like, “What are you doing?!?!…

and then he was on one knee (while this guy walked in awkwardly…) and he opened the box with the ring and I was like…. “Really?!?”

and he said, “Genie, will you marry me” (I think he said this…)

and I said with nervous laughter, “yes..ok!”

then he put the ring on my finger as he said, “This is the right hand right?”

and then we looked at each other and laughed and said…”So we’re engaged?!?”

and then it was quiet and that other guy still looked awkward…

Then it was our stop in Downtown Fullerton and we got off the train and I saw a bajillion balloons and people and I was like, “Oh My Gosh….!!!!” and he had to drag me over there…

and then it was an explosion of Congratulations and happy people and I was getting all teary..

and THEN, he said, we are all going to walk over to FRATI for gelato on Me! and then I almost LOST it completely!

So I didn’t really cry when he popped the question, but cried about Frati… Wow…

Celebrated with friends at FRATI and then headed over to korean restaurant with both of our moms, dads, and brothers…

I thought about it a little more and was wondering, Why a train? and Why Fullerton?

TRAIN:

and then it hit me later, in our private blog…my last entry was “Marry Me by Train”…but it was Train the band..

I put that video up because I randomly heard it and thought..That is “So Sappy” ! and also because I really did want to Marry Him… (I almost deleted that entry..puaha)

So Daniel wrote as a comment right before the proposal, “okay.”

and just a few weeks ago, we took the train for the first time to San Juan Capistrano for a mini day trip and it was a fun memory!…

FULLERTON,

…well..I know that area like the back of my hand… I spend a lot of time eating, drinking and shopping out there…so Downtown Fullerton…does have a special place in my heart and Daniel and I have spent quite some time out there together!

BALLOONS:

not sure if he thought about all these things, but Daniel and I love the movie “Up”

so thanks for all the balloons, but we had to pop most of them to get them inside the trunk..haha!

and Now, we need to plan the wedding… because our parents are already asking us a bunch of questions…

Here’s us:

The pretty rose gold peach champagne ring:

More to come and thanks to all who celebrated with us!

(I think Daniel would have a more sappy and detailed entry than me...hahh... I'll put his version up later ;)
